Before Your First Appointment

We recommend that you gently exfoliate the area several days before your appointment. Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours prior to waxing. Make sure hair is 1/4” in length. You may take a pain reliever 30-45 minutes prior to service.

Hair needs to be grown out for at least 2 weeks AND be at least 1/4” in length (length of a grain of rice). A regular wax schedule is every 4-6 weeks.

We recommend waxing at least 48 hours before an event or vacation in order to give the skin time to calm down.

You may be waxed on your period as long as your are wearing a tampon or menstrual cup. Please be aware that you may be more sensitive during your period, as well as during the week prior.

You may be waxed while pregnant, just be aware that you may be more sensitive.

You must not have used Retin-A, Differin, any OTC or prescribed Retinol or other Vitamin A creams, had microdermabrasion or a chemical peel in the area to be waxed in the past 48-72 hours.

You must have not taken Accutane (an oral form of Retin-A) in the past 12 months.

You may experience skin sensitivity/thinning, which can result in skin 

You must not have used Retin-A, Differin, any OTC or prescribed Retinol or other Vitamin A creams, had microdermabrasion or a chemical peel in the area to be waxed in the past 48-72 hours.

You must have not taken Accutane (an oral form of Retin-A) in the past 12 months.

You may experience skin sensitivity/thinning, which can result in skin lifting, from the following:

sunburned skin, retinol, antibiotics, pregnancy, menstruation, certain medical conditions & other medications not listed

Discomfort experienced during waxing will vary by individual. To minimize discomfort, you may take a pain reliever 30-45 minutes prior to service.

Spray tanning should be done after waxing, at least 24-48 hours. If you get a spray tan prior to waxing, the wax will remove the tan, as waxing exfoliates the skin.
